We
began our activities in the province of Mendoza, with a heavy emphasis
on human development and social work for at-risk sectors of the population,
fashioning leadership produced by intimate contact with people and their
everyday realities.
We
produced journals of education, production, employment, and social action,
with various contributors from the province and the nation. Additionally,
we worked with a network of diverse institutions to study municipal and
production problems in Mendoza.
Some
of our activities during the last years:
- "Programa
Bolsa - Escola" Conference.
Dr. Antonio F. Pereira Pesaro, Secretary for Programa Bolsa - Escola
del Ministerio de Educación of Brasil was invited to discuss
about the success of the Brazilian case in rent-transferring to populations
in need. Fundación BankBoston, Edunexo, and Asociación
Oportunidad collaborated.
- "Argentina
por Argentinos" Seminar in Brasilia (Federal Republic of Brazil),
with the help and support of various institutions in Brazil and Argentina
including the office of the Chancellor, the Argentine Embassy, Universidad
de Brasilia, Universidad Católica Argentina, and Fundación
BankBoston.
- Seminars
and Conferences
in various universities and institutes including Universidad Nacional
de Córdoba, Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, and Universidad de
Lomas de Zamora.
- Microcredit
Programs train specialized teams in the design, implementation,
and control of social programs for persons in at-risk social situations.
We have worked alongside Fondo Nacional de Capital Social, Fundación
del Banco Provincia, Fundación Majdalani, and other institutions.
- Specialized
Work Teams
in various areas including Education, Health, Economy, International
Policy, available to work together and exchange knowledge with other
non-profit institutions.
- Radio
program "Cultura y Solidaridad" FM Cultura (97.9). We
hosted a weekly show dedicated to discussing topics of public interest
and supporting our vision and study, together with Pbro. Guillermo Marcó.
- Radio
program "Arena Política" FM Cultura (97.9). The
Foundation's own airtime to promote socio-political development in society.
- Contact
with Youth from the Interior. We hosted meetings in various provinces
including Mendoza, Córdoba, Santa Fe and Río Negro, to
engage young people from distinct sectors in dialogue and debate.
- TV
Show "Futura Dirigencia", on P&E, a Cablevisión
affiliate, directed at an audience of young leaders in politics, society,
business, and political journalism and aired on two radios in the province.
- Network
projects that study the diverse municipal and production problems
in the province of Mendoza with other institutions.
- Journals
of education, production, employment, and social action, in the
province of Mendoza with various provincial and national speakers.
- We
work with over forty rural schools, children's homes, social organizations,
and other institutions such as CARITAS, permitting us to help over six
thousand families in need. Recently, our efforts earned us two awards
in social work.
